Cakes That Don’t Look Like Cakes
Last week I published a post about a “Turkey cake” that looked exactly like a real raw turkey and not like a cake. There are a lot of great bakers out there who are very creative and can easily fool us with works of art which are actually cakes but really don’t look like it!
“Coach” handbag cake
Every woman needs at least one “Coach” handbag, but because they’re so expensive I will settle for a cake that looks exactly like the real thing. This cake was created by Emily from the blog: cake is life. The cake is Strawberry Cake with Oreo Buttercream filling. It is covered in Dark Chocolate Ganache and White Chocolate Buttercream. The decorations were fondant and the logo was handpainted. You can’t carry this “handbag” on your shoulder but it tastes delicious!
Kitty litter box cake
Ok I must admit- this cake is not so appealing. This Kitty liiter box cake can be Great Halloween cake. In order to make this cake to look like a real kitty litter box you’ll need a new kitty litter box, box liner and litter scoop as props to get the full effect with this cake. This cake was designed by Andrea James.
Apple MacBook Pro and iPhone cake
This amazingly intricate cake by New York’s BCake is an edible version of a MacBook Pro, along with a delicious iPhone among other things. The star of this cakestravaganza is an aluminum MacBook Pro laptop, complete with a highly detailed keyboard, iPhone and a matching Mouse. Even the random desktop accessories – including pens made out of sugar. This cake is a perfect idea for any geek or of course any Apple fan!
Cooked Stake Cake
I don’t know why but people love to make cakes that looks like meat. After the turkey cake it’s time for Steak cake! Next to the cake you can also see edible utensils and broccoli. utensils are pastillage, broccoli is fondant. This cake was created by Debbie from DebbieDoesCakesNet.
One of my greatest love is spaghetti. This spaghetti cake is so awesome! It looks like Spaghetti with tomato sauce, meatballs and grated Parmesan cheese on top. The “spaghetti” is buttercream piped through a large round tip. the “sauce” is strawberry jam tinted with yellow & white food colors, the “meatballs” are Ferrero Rocher truffles and the “cheese” is shaved white chocolate! The cake was created by Wild Cakes.
Lego Stormtrooper Cake
This Lego Stormtrooper Cake is a perfect cake for kids and especially kids who love Lego and Star-Wars. The cake was created by Simmie From the blog Simmie Cakes.
This cake was actually created using the “CAKEWICH SANDWICH CAKE MOLD” which is shaped like a big hunk of white bread, All you need to do is just bake and slice to make double-decker sandwich cakes: peanut butter and Jelly, raspberry-vanilla Reuben or even a chocolate-butter-creme Sloppy Joe. You can get the Cakewich for 22.99$ right here.
Rouvelee Ilagan made this cake for her Dad’s birthday, but I guess he was very surprised to find out these are not actually beers you can drink! In this amazing cake, some of it is cake (the bucket), while the beer bottles and the ice are molded hard candy. Cheers!
Don’t let this flower cake fool you! Those are edible flowers. Cakes with flowers are very suitable for spring weddings or any other event that take place during spring or summer. Wild flowers by Lori has a really bit collection of garden cakes, The flowers are hand painted sugar flowers and the basket is actually the cake. So beautiful.
Victorian House Cake
For those of you who lives in San Francisco, Victorian houses are very familiar. This amazing cake was created by Confetti Cakes, and it wasn’t an easy job. The cake was made for a wedding and was a replica of a the house the wedding took place in. There was even an architect involved in the configuration of the roof so all the details would be very accurate. The entire house was Banana cake filled with Chocolate Ganache.
Big Mac Cake
This one’s a cake for all you McDonald’s lovers. The cake looks like a real big mac and it’s even inside a real Big Mac box to look even more realistic! The cake has been well crafted and put together and materials have obviously been considered to achieve this realistic look.

Reebok shoe cake
This cake is in the form of a Reebok shoe! You definitely don’t want to go running with this shoe on because you’re probably not going to get very far. The details of the shoe was done so well that you probably could fool someone into trying this shoe on! Amazing, isn’t it?
Bag of bagels cake
